May 2001 Board Meeting Minutes by George Bixby May 2, 2001
The meeting commenced at 6:45 pm at Jillian’s in Manchester, NH.
George Bixby presented the minutes to the last months meeting. Dan Guliano motioned that the minutes be accepted. The motion was seconded and the motion was carried by vote.
Mike Lussier was not present to give the treasurer’s report but Dan Guliano reported that the April driver’s ed event will break even or make a few dollars with the addition of sponsorship money.
Dan told the club that he had had contact with Luka Sedar of the Boston Chapter about helping out with instructors for the O’Fest Driver’s Ed. He reported that the Boston Chapter was unsure of what help they needed.
Under new business, Dan mentioned that the driver’s ed event had a delayed start but was promised a full event. Unfortunately, the event was concluded arlier than expected. There was some discussion about the repercussions to the change in schedule.
Dan informed the club that he would be attending a meeting at Waterville Valley for the upcoming October Fest 2001. He reminded the club that volunteers were still needed for the TSD rally on Thursday of that week. In addition, Dan told the group that volunteers would be needed for the concours event on Friday of that week.
Matt Kogan brought up that he was aware that the national Lotus club was looking for a site close to Worcester Mass for an Autocross. Matt suggested that the White Mountain Chapter contact the club to see if we could assist.
Alan Goddu reminded the club of the upcoming Susan B. Komen charity event. He stated that there was an organizational meeting June 11th for the June 28th event, at Dreher-Holloway BMW (in Exeter, NH). He relayed that proof of insurance was needed by those that volunteered to fairy cars from dealership to dealership. Alan also reminded the group that it was important for as many club members to attend as possible. He reminded the club that this was good for charity and good for the club’s relationship with Dreher-Holloway.
Dan brought up inter-club cooperation with the COM (Corvettes of Massachusetts). He stated that upon further discussion with COM about the driver reciprocal agreement, he was told that COM was prepared to offer competition license to WMC chapter group one students on condition that they join COM.
There was no other business and the meeting was closed at 7:30 pm.
